Long Barn luxury cottages are really fabulous. The cottages are so homely and warm, and made us feel as though we had lived there for years! Pubs in Westbury are normally quite good but this one is fantastic. If you like experimental cooking, then Casamia is for you. It is expensive but thatâ¬"s because youâ¬"re paying for amazing quality of food. Casamia is about trying out different flavours as opposed to stuffing your face. I vividly remember the amazing cheese on crackers that just melt in your mouth. The restaurant reminds me of wine tasting more than a proper meal out â¬ your experiencing flavours and i guess that why itâ¬"s a must just for the experience!If you like experimental cooking, then Casamia is for you. I had the Girls Pre Party package paid for me by my mum from Beauty Box and they did a really good job. Looking around the shop whilst we were waiting for our samplerandwiches, we saw an award posted on the wall that said â¬SUK sandwich retailer of the yearâ¬. The sandwiches â¬ first class. If you love Italian food and want more than the high street equivalent, you must check out Valentinoâ¬"s in Bristol. Eating here reminded me of the beginning of The Godfather part 1 when Marlon Brandoâ¬"s daughter is getting married in the family home surrounded by nice greenery and good wine. Very neat and tidy Indian restaurant in a great location of Westbury. Even though the tables are small it gives the restaurant a little romantic feel to it. Waiters are very attentive to your needs. I could spend hours in here - there are so many lovely bits and pieces. It's great for present hunting - and the prices are very reasonable. There's also a good selection of cards. Cadets from 2442 (Westbury on Trym) Squadron, had a musical feast last week with a concert at the Colston hall with the Band of the Royal Air Force. 8 Cadets were program sellers, Raising money for the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.
Then 2 days later attended a concert as ushers at the Polish Church in Bristol to celebrate the 60 years of friendship and support shown to Polish people who have settled in the city since World War II.
Polish parish priest Zygmunt Fraczek and former Honorary Consul George Peszynski organised this concert on November 20 which featured a Polish mezzo-soprano, tenor soloist, bass baritone, a guest artist from Warsaw and a British concert pianist.
The Lord Lieutenant of Bristol Mary Prior, the High Sheriff of Bristol, Dr Timothy Chambers, and the Lord Mayor of Bristol, Councillor Chris Davies, were guests of honour at the concert in the Polish Church in Cheltenham Road which was followed by a reception in the church hall. Proceeds from tickets and donations were divided between the Lord Mayor's Christmas Appeal for Children and a children's home in Iwonicz-Zdroj, Poland, run by Felicjan nuns who worked in the Polish parish in Bristol in the early Eighties.
This was a fantastic evening and very meaningful as lots of our cadets come from Poland.
